ABOUT US
Founded in September 1991, The Catholic News & Herald is the official publication of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte, N.C., an area seated in Charlotte and encompassing the western 46 counties of North Carolina. In its 16-year history, the newspaper has been honored by the Catholic Press Association for writing, photography and design. The Catholic News & Herald is a tool of evangelization, and its primary goal is to share the news of the Catholic Church occurring in this diocese, the nation and the world.
The Catholic News & Herald is received by every household registered at one of the diocese's 92 parishes and missions, by clergy and religious in North Carolina, and by other paid subscribers within the region and elsewhere. It is published 44 times yearly, weekly except for Christmas week and Easter week and every two weeks during June, July and August.
