Campus Ministry

"Campus Ministry is the embodiment of the Church on campus.  Campus Ministry forms a Catholic Christian community through worship, reflection on the faith, peer ministry, and outreach to the university at large.  Through the efforts of this ministry, Catholic students are formed in the faith, 'empowered by the Spirit' to realize the kingdom of God on campus and become prepared to contribute to the Church following their college years."

"Campus Ministry is an expression of the Church's special desire to be present to all who are involved in higher education."

"Campus Ministry gathers the Catholics on campus for prayer, worship, and learning, in order that they might bring the light of the Gospel to illumine the concerns and hopes of the academic community."

"All the members of the Church on campus are called, according to their own gifts, to share in this ministry."1

The Davidson College Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) is a faith community journeying together through the college years.  CCM offers the students at Davidson a wide range of opportunities for involvement on many different levels.  It is a viable community where all are welcome.  As our motto states, we are young adults gaining strength for life through faith.

Service:  Davidson's CCM offers several opportunities for service.  Several students volunteer weekly or occasionally with the lunch buddies program at Blythe Elementary School and the Joshua's Farm program.  This past spring, twelve students spent their spring break in New Orleans, LA, on an Alternative Spring Break trip.
Retreats:  In addition to the Diocesan College Retreat, several students attended the Pax Christi Retreat in Jacksonville, FL and others traveled to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA for a silent retreat weekend.  Each fall, CCM holds a retreat at St. Francis House in Hickory, NC to start out the school year with community and prayer.
Weekly Programs:  Each Thursday night at 6:30, students meet in the Carolina Inn for the weekly Renew session.  This is a time to gather for a meal and some sort of faith sharing or prayer, which changes week to week.  In addition, each Wednesday morning, at 10:30, many students congregate in Barb's office for Inquiry sessions, held for those interested in becoming Catholics, but also foster challenging and enlightening discussions of the Catholic faith for anyone interested.
Other Events:  Davidson CCM offers two special Masses annually: an Advent Mass of Light and a Lenten Mass for the community to come together in prayer during these special Church Seasons.

The Catholic Student Fellowship of Greensboro (CSFG) is a religious organization comprised of the three student faith communities of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (UNCG), Guilford College, and Greensboro College (GC).  Together, we strive to live lives of faith centered upon our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who calls us to loving service of God and neighbor.  Through our celebration of Eucharist, study of Sacred Scripture, and day-to-day living of the teachings and traditions of the Catholic faith, our Christian witness to the Gospel is nurtured and strengthened.

  • Community Dinners: provides great home-cooked meals and relaxed conversations. It's a great way to get to know other Catholic students and to introduce your friends to us.
  • Communications: makes certain that the WFU community is kept well informed of all WFCC activities by the design and production of weekly bulletins, flyers, and email distributions.
  • Joseph House: a monthly program which allows students to get off campus for an evening dinner and discussion with local Catholic professionals.
