|
The Catholic Social Teachings are to be integrated across all Diocesan curricula. These values project the Catholic philosophy of our schools. Click here to view excerpts from reflections of the U.S. Bishops on Catholic Social Teachings.
Schools in the Diocese of Charlotte offer a comprehensive course of study designed to implement our mission of education. This Information is intended to help parents better understand the course of study offered at each grade level.
At the heart of our curriculum is the study of our Catholic Faith. Because Religion is the very reason for our existence it would follow that a focal point of this information is the course of study offered in our Religion classes. What is included is an overview of the Religion Program offered at every grade level.
In all other areas of the curriculum, the Diocese of Charlotte aligns itself with the Standard Course of Study as outlined by the State of North Carolina. This listing is a comprehensive outline of the course of instruction in each content area, at each grade level. This information provides an overview of our curriculum. Learning Support Program
The mission of the Diocese of Charlotte’s Learning Support Program is to recognize and facilitate a successful learning environment for each student experiencing learning differences in the classroom. The Learning Support Program of the Diocese of Charlotte is a regional program established in each of our seventeen schools. The Learning Support Program is a source created for the purpose of addressing the individual learning needs of our students. Each school has a Learning Support teacher(s), who is certified and experienced in working with specific learning needs. The Learning Support Program addresses learning issues by providing support at three levels: Student, Teacher, and Parent.
