The Diocese of Charlotte has combined ten former second collections into two. The National/International Combined Collection includes The Bishop’s Overseas Appeal, The Collection for the Holy Land, The Collection for the Works of the Holy Father (Peter’s Pence), The Catholic University of America, and Catholic Communications Campaign. The National/International Combined Collection is taken up in all parishes the third weekend in October.
The Combined Mission Collection benefits The Collection for the Propagation of the Faith, The Collection for the Church in Latin America, The Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe, The Catholic Home Missions Appeal, and The United States Mission Collection (formerly Black and Indian Collection). This Combined Mission Collection is taken up in all parishes the third weekend in May. Each of these combined collections features a mailing to all registered households from our Chancellor, Father West. The Office of Development provides parishes with a promotional poster, fact sheet, bulletin and pulpit announcements, and extra collection envelopes.
