Bishop Jugis blesses Catholic portion of cemetery Bishop Peter J. Jugis blessed the Garden of St. Matthew, a new exclusive Catholic section designed and developed at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews Aug. 12.
Growing in faith and tradition Bishop Peter J. Jugis dedicated the renovated and expanded parish hall at St. Joseph Church in Charlotte July 27. The parish hall was dedicated in memory of the 117 Vietnamese martyrs declared as saints by Pope John Paul II in June 1988.

N.C. bishops launch Catholic Voice NC Bishop Peter J. Jugis of Charlotte and Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of Raleigh have created an organization to give the state’s Catholics a greater voice in the political process. The bishops made the announcement during a press conference in front of the StateLegislativeBuilding in Raleigh July 2.
